Mohd Azfar bin Abd Aziz a.k.a Daniel

1) Tell us about yourself

My Name is Mohd Azfar bin Abd Aziz a.k.a Daniel. I am 22 years old. I was born in Klang, Selangor, now staying in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. I am the fifth out of six siblings. I am an automotive student. During my free time I like to play futsal, guitar and snooker.

2) What is it that you like about music?

Music is Life, wherever we go, music will always follow. Of course I love music and the melodies that are created. No matter what race, gender, or religion, music unifies us all.

3) Why are you interested in learning an instrument?

I like to learn new things and am interested in how they are played. That is why drums became my choice of instrument.

4) How has your learning experience been at Rock City?

Rock City is a great place to learn with so many teachers with deep experience to learn from. That's how I learn things quickly and effectively.

5) What knowledge & experience have you gained studying music at Rock City?

I got to learn how to play drums with my own style with guidance from the teachers and got to form my own band in Rock City. My band and I got the experience of playing in front of hundreds of people, including my family, when we entered the Battlefest 2008 band competition. It was unforgettable.

6) What further knowledge & experience do you hope to acquire?

I want to learn stuff that is more challenging and hopefully one day when the opportunity hits my band and I get to perform in gigs and other places.

7) What are your musical goals and dreams?

To become professional - Playing my own music with my band and creating an album and selling it. I hope my band will be famous in Malaysia and everyone will love it :)

8) How do you plan to achieve it/them?

I will continue learning from those that can inspire me to realize my dream. To find friends who are interested and serious about music, and to be able to work with professionals and people with experience.

9) How has musical knowledge and experience contributed to other areas of your life?

Well I like it when friends and family compliment me and say how great I am in my performances, it is something that I’m really proud of.

10) In what way, do you think, your experience at Rock City will help you to achieve the goals in your life?

From the aspects of learning and motivation guidance from professional teachers such as Kit, Tony as well as others has helped me a lot in the field of music and it gives me the enthusiasm to succeed in whatever field I will be facing in the near future…especially music ( Music is My World~!!!! ) :)
