Rock City School of Music is a modern music school that takes you on a musical adventure starting from the learning of an instrument to various opportunities such as playing in a band, performing on stage, writing your own songs and finally releasing your own music.

This is the natural progression of the music student. Once you can play an instrument (even at a beginner’s level), you want to meet with other musicians to jam and play in a band. At Rock City, we meet this need. Under the guidance of our teachers and administrators we have regular group classes so that you can apply what you have been taught by your instructor during the one-on-one sessions in a band setting. During these group classes you get to build rapport with students who are learning other instruments and then practice regularly to hone your musical skills.

The next step in your musical evolution would be to perform. Now that you are confident on your instrument, you want to show off on stage – and there is definitely nothing wrong with that! Rock City organizes regular performances, both at our premise as well as in public areas such as shopping malls. With your band, you will have the opportunity to shine under the limelight, basking in the applause of family, friends…and also strangers.

There is great satisfaction as a musician to be able to write your own songs and come up with musical arrangements for the original composition. There is usually one primary songwriter in a band that composes the melody and writes the lyrics, but every member of the band can contribute in the arrangement of the song on his or her instrument of choice, making the song a unique piece of music.

Here at Rock City School of Music, we take you to this point in 12 to 18 months. By then, you have a chance to release your own music and market it. Granted, in all honesty, the global music industry is not in great shape with rampant file sharing and piracy, but that does not mean as musicians we put a halt to our dreams. Rock City does not promise that you’ll become rock stars, instead we teach you to find your musical identity, and provide you the chance and platform to introduce your original songs to the public.
